Launching New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 in stellar style, Harper’s BAZAAR celebrated its fourth annual ‘ICONS by Carine Roitfeld’ on September 7. Name your favorite fashion or music A-lister — anyone who’s anyone — and they were very likely to have been sipping Moët & Chandon or signature Belvedere Vodka cocktails at the Plaza Hotel among the glittering galaxy of stars.
With too many famous guests to name, here’s our A-list of the A-list: Adriana Lima, Dionne Warwick, Joan Smalls, Amber Rose, Candice Swanepoel, Cindy Crawford, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Heidi Klum, Iris Apfel, Jasmine Tookes, Jared Leto, Jim Carrey, Josephine Skriver, Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian West, Lewis Hamilton, Machine Gun Kelly, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Tommy Hilfiger, Ty Dolla $ign, Vanessa Hudgens and Young Thug.
Lucky invitees to the exclusive black-tie party were entertained by The Weeknd (the cover star of the current Harper’s BAZAAR US magazine, alongside Adriana Lima and Irina Shayk) and surrounded by sparkling fun. Swarovski, as partner of ICONS, illuminated the event with over 225,000 crystals. Model of the moment Maye Musk enjoyed posing with the crystallized guitars in front of the rock-‘n’-roll photo-wall. Her stunning ADEAM buttercream gown showed off this season’s ruffles and shone with Swarovski Crystal Pearls. The statement scarlet bracelet and ring combo is from this season’s Atelier Swarovski by Paul Andrew ‘Domino’ Collection. Other stars spotted wearing Atelier Swarovski were Nina Agdal, Courtney Love, Carol Alt, Chriselle Lim, Jessica Jung and Zoe Pastelle, while Jaime King wore a Jason Wu gown embellished with Swarovski crystals.
There was also an exquisite jewelry display showcasing special archive pieces, plus immersive 3D holographic videos, to celebrate Atelier Swarovski’s 10th anniversary. Other dazzling moments included crystal-studded DJ headphones and a crystal-customized Instagram wall. One of the most eye-catching features of the event was the shimmering ‘#BAZAARICONS’ giant hashtag, which transformed a full-length staircase mirror into an impromptu selfie opportunity. As partygoers made their way to and from the ballroom, sometimes stopping at the two bespoke Stella Artois bars for a ‘Cidre Unplugged’ cocktail, they picked up a Fujifilm Instax camera to snap their own instant party-print.
