As All Star cheerleaders converged in Dallas, Texas, for NCA All-Star Nationals 2018 (February 23–25), the mood was excitable and fiercely expectant. Each of these young athletes have worked intensely in hopes for their team to be crowned NCA (National Cheerleader Association) National Champions.
This year the competition was tougher than ever, demonstrating the sheer guts, determination and athleticism of those who must master difficult acrobatic tumbling, stunting and jumps before weaving them into complex routines. This is as much about competitive athletic ability as it is about entertainment. The squads have two minutes and thirty seconds to impress the judges and they give it their all, pulling together as a team to create an athletic event that is bigger than the sum of its parts. It’s vital that the athletes have absolute faith in one another and that they can support each other—literally—when they perform.
Their powerful team spirit, dedication, and athletic ability was the inspiration behind Varsity All Star's new video, Stronger. It was created in collaboration with Swarovski and made its debut over the competition weekend. Stronger captures all the strength, tension, camaraderie, and the precision technique of which All Star athletes endure. It also highlights the sheer beauty of Varsity apparel sparkling with Swarovski crystals as the body is in motion.
The video concluded with the phrase “Together We’re Stronger”, which resonated not only with the athletes, but also with Varsity All Star and Swarovski as partners. Through many years spent working within the competitive cheer industry—Swarovski's experts have perfected the art and science of using light to enhance precision movement. What a thrill to see their crystal expertise now extended to NCA and Varsity All Star
