Dubai Gets Bathed in Crystals

For spectacular glamour, it’s hard to beat events that have Dubai as their location. The Sparkling Couture Infinity Exhibition certainly qualified: Swarovski’s second tribute to artistry around the world opened to much fanfare on October 25. Held in Dubai’s Madinat Arena, the night showcased the regions’ biggest names in design, celebrating everything from the latest creations by exclusive fashion houses to exciting new trends in accessories and interiors.

This year’s Sparkling Couture Infinity Exhibition had as its theme the idea of the beauty and creative versatility made possible by Swarovski crystals. Couture in every imaginable hue sparkled and shimmered, with over 40 haute couturiers and 56 designers from 17 countries each showing off a piece demonstrating astonishing creative use of Swarovski crystals crafted exclusively for the exhibition.

Fashion superstars from every segment came out to show off their capabilities: in accessories we saw Tchi Tchi, Bo Cou, and Dorsa. Couture was represented by Dar Sara, Ezra, Arushi, Lama Askari, Maria B, Zeinab Chotani, Bunto Kazmi, Sania Maskatiya, Georges Hobeika, Elie Awad, Jean Louis Sabaji, No Fux Label, Zahra Pourfad, Reza Zarei, Masih Zad, Mitra Couture, Dar al Hanouf, Tarun Tahiliani, Shantanu & Nikhil, Hian Tjen, Finale Wedding Studio, VESTAL BY JUNG HYEJIN, WANG PEIYI, Rizalman, WECOUTURE, Uno Kanda, and Ophelia Crossland. Interior design presented luminous work from Sedar. Jewelry saw creations from Vinita Michael, Confluence, Inaaya, Rema Taseer, Shadras and Valérie Valentine. Modest Wear designers included Hanayen (UAE), Rizwan, Zumorrod, Bait Hanayen (KWT), Al Qattan, Bait Abaya Al Sharqiaa, Shafira, and NH Prima. Also at the exhibition were scarves by JF Scarves, Beige, Diamo Dal, Ezma, Vintage Shades, Zu Uan and Bawal Exclusive, and footwear designs from Joy Shoes. A spellbinding show!
