Acclaimed for his trademark thigh-splits, cut-out details and asymmetric red carpet glamour, Alexander Vauthier is a highly regarded international talent, working across ready-to-wear womenswear and haute couture.
Sensuality, glamour and feminity are three of the main characteristics of Vauthier’s desings. He seems to know perfectly what women need, so he’s the red-carpet favorite of Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid and Taylor Swift.
10 seasons of collaboration
During Paris Haute Couture Week SS17, which is taking place between 22 and 26 January, Vauthier presents its new collection, celebrating 10 seasons of collaboration with Swarovski. Throughout this, the designer has explored new connections between crystal and his own unique savoir-faire. Swarovski stones and pearls offer scintillating shine to Vauthier’s creations, as you can see in the images below.
Swarovski and Alexandre Vauthier began their collaboration in 2012 when the Austrian brand first opened its doors to the then emerging couturier, who founded his namesake fashion house in 2009 after working with Jean-Paul Gaultier. Showing off its extensive range of crystal cuts and colors to Vauthier, Swarovski started to support the designer with the creation of his embroideries and collections.
Since then, over the past ten seasons Alexandre Vauthier has used more than 1.7 million Swarovski crystals to create almost 100 crystallized looks. He commented: “Swarovski crystal and fine artisan craftsmanship are both part of my DNA. All my collections are created with a touch of crystal. Our histories are indivisible”.
