Stardust Showers Shanghai!

2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
The Angels are back! This year they landed in Shanghai for the first time, where they filled their biggest stage yet at the Mercedes-Benz Arena with a jaw-dropping array of heavenly looks. Monday’s show marked the 15-year “crystal anniversary” of the creative partnership between Swarovski and the legendary lingerie brand; in celebration, over a million crystals fired up the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show extravaganza.

First to blaze down the runway in a flutter of red and black feathers was Candice Swanepoel, just back from her maternity break, looking incredible in a plaid-fishnet look from the master of body-con, Olivier Rousteing. It was a real coup to get Balmain’s creative director on board, and those show-opening Victoria’s Secret x Balmain Punk Angel outfits continued to wow as more of the big model names followed Candice out. There was last year’s Swarovski Look Angel Josephine Skriver alongside Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes and Stella Maxwell, all rocked out in crystal-studded leather and denim with gleaming metallic flourishes. Elsa Hosk slayed it in a fishnet shrug and denim vest hand-embroidered with a sensational spiky crystal crust.

Kelly Gale made a radiant impression in a silk chiffon negligee and feather wings sparkling with Swarovski crystals in the Porcelain Angel section. Swarovski Brand Ambassador Karlie Kloss was another well-known face making a welcome return as she sashayed along the runway for A Winter’s Tale; her on-trend platinum locks were styled in Victoria’s Secret signature waves, a striking complement to her silk metallic-frosted peignoir, golden feather wings blooming ice-blue flowers, and a Dream Angels high-waist crystallized thong.

2017-victorias-secret-fashion-show-3Bella made her second appearance, lighting up the Goddesses section in a breathtaking baby-blue silk gown with golden embroidery and a brass crown. However, the gorgeous goddess award arguably went to Lais Ribeiro, stunning in the $2million Fantasy Bra hand-set with diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz in 18k gold. She made her entrance serenaded by Harry Styles in mint-green Givenchy.

It was the final section, however, that gave the most eye-popping impression. The riot of beaded color and high-octane dazzle was themed Nomadic Adventure, and erupted onto the stage shown off by some of the top names, among them Adriana Lima, Taylor Hill, and Alessandra Ambrosio in kaleidoscopically bright feathers. But it was Elsa Hosk who stole it. She had the honor of wearing this year’s Swarovski Look, a spectacular showstopper custom-made by Serkan Cura. Fired up with a glittering rainbow of 275,000 crystals and 200 yards of woven ribbon, her wings weighed in as one of the heaviest ever to fly the Victoria’s Secret catwalk.

Be sure to tune in to the broadcast on the CBS Network on November 28 at 10pm EST. As exclusive extras to the show itself, there will be pink carpet interviews, model profiles, and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017.
