The World’s Most Expensive Milkshake With 3,000 Swarovski Crystals on the Glass

For anyone with a sweet tooth, this is self-indulgence on an epic scale, an extreme experience, and once you’ve tasted it no milkshake will ever come close. To celebrate National Vanilla Milkshake Day on June 20, Creative Chef Joe Calderon at renowned New York restaurant Serendipity 3 has taken milkshake-making stratospheric.
The world’s Most Expensive Milkshake
Already famous for holding a number of Guinness World Records (including the Most Expensive Sandwich, Most Expensive Dessert, and Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate/Cocoa), this time Serendipity 3 has created the Most Expensive Milkshake in partnership with Swarovski and Crystal Ninja—and all have been recognized with a Guinness World Record Certificate!

The world’s Most Expensive Milkshake For Calderon, it’s about wowing customers with the most luxurious, creamiest, richest, mouth-watering concoction, and serving it up in style. “Style” barely does justice to the end result: the concoction is served in a svelte sundae glass specially customized with 3,000 sparkling Swarovski crystals by Master Artist Kellie DeFries, aka the “Crystal Ninja.” Globally renowned for transforming everything from cars and elevators to mopeds and street signs into eye-popping objets d’art using Swarovski crystals, her artworks are prized collectors’ items.

And when you get inside the bejeweled glass, you’ll find that the record-breaking beverage uses only the very finest ingredients on Earth: Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream and Madagascar Vanilla Beans bring bursts of rich, luscious flavor; British Devonshire Luxury Clotted Cream and Jersey Milk create a thick, silky texture. Next, Chef Calderon adds a garnish of Le Cremose Baldizzone from Venezuela, whipped cream, and Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries from Italy. The pièce de résistance is 23-karat, edible gold, which, when sends a sumptuous golden sparkle through the glass.

Don’t even think about the calories… if you’re feeling like splurging on a hot summer day, stop in the Serendipity 3 NYC restaurant to enjoy a casual $100 milkshake, just because. Although the Swarovski crystal encrusted glass is not for sale, the sparkling sundae goblets will be on display to admire.

Here’s to hoping our summer is as a luxurious, sparkling, sweet and record-breaking as this.
