Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015

The Angels have landed!

It’s that time of year again. The world’s top models have been training to get the chance to walk this particular runway. Highly specialized artisans, from handcrafted leather experts to couturiers, have been pushing their creativity to the limit. Why? Because the most spectacular event of the international fashion calendar has arrived: the thirteenth edition of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has erupted onto the global fashion stage with its customary dazzle, artistry, and glamour.

The excitement began behind the scenes, as camera crews caught the 47 selected models being made-up and styled, among them long-time favorite Angels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, plus Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Then, as expectation mounted among the guests, the show exploded onto the catwalk in a festival of color, sparkle and patterning. Kris and Caitlyn Jenner were front row to cheer their daughter as she rocked it in a Victoria’s Secret Designer Collection bra and panty set with an organza bodice embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

Beautiful Swarovski crystal-sprinkled themes included Fireworks, Exotic Butterflies; and Portrait of an Angel, featuring lace and corsets in powdery colorways. Ice Angels brought even more sparkle to the show with a series of luxe winter looks embellished with Swarovski’s iconic edelweiss crystals; delicately flower-shaped, they were developed to commemorate the crystal company’s 120th anniversary, and named after the most precious Alpine flower.

Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and The Weekend brought the live music. Selena, looking every inch the grown-up star in a slinky gown with plunging décolletage, performed ‘Hands to Myself’ from her latest album, while Ellie wowed in a tight white outfit with zip embellishments as she sang ‘Love Me Like You Do’.

The lingerie extravaganza closed with a suitably lavish bang in a brilliant Fireworks-themed finale that brought the audience to their feet. Among the looks were Angel wings worn by Joan Smalls resembling a spinning Catherine Wheel made from crystals and synthetic feathers. For the pièce de résistance, Parisian couturier Serkan Cura worked his magic to custom-design a corset worn by new Angel Martha Hunt. Meticulously crafted using 90,000 Swarovski crystal beads in gold, red, emerald and blue, the outfit also featured spectacular Angel wings embellished with over 20,000 golden and iridescent crystals, and 130 feet of LED lights. Charged by a battery pack and lined with around 1,200 lights, the wings weighed in at nineteen pounds! The show airs on CBS at 10pm EST on Tuesday, December 8. Not to be missed!
