Vogue Paris Foundation Makes Fashion History Happen

The venue was Paris’s Palais Galliera, a museum built in 1894 by the Duchesse de Galliera on a large plot of land that she owned. Today, that large plot of land just happens to be right in the center of Paris. It was supposed to accommodate her art collection, but she changed her mind, and this proved to be fashion’s gain because today it houses a stunning fashion collection and is suitably named the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris.

This is where our story begins: on July 6, a galaxy of stars assembled at Palais Galliera in honor of the Vogue Paris Foundation’s fourth annual gala dinner, supported by Swarovski, which raises funds for the fashion muse

um’s contemporary collections. The money enables the historic site to celebrate new works of art and fashion design by adding to its ever-changing selection of fashion exhibits. This year, support and participation came from iconic American, French, Italian and British brands such as Burberry, Calvin Klein, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

The night’s centerpiece was an exclusive look at the Swarovski x Vogue Paris Capsule Collection. The new designs ranged from fluid femininity to edgy androgyny, all trimmed or embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

Modern fashion goddesses like Tilda Swinton, Kate Moss, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner also showed up for the cause, many in crystal-enhanced styles of their own as they posed for Instagram. Swarovski’s special guests included fashion designers Christopher Kane and Iris Van Herpen, Schiaparelli Creative Director Bertrand Guyon, and actress Melissa George. Meanwhile, the heads of major houses like Dior’s new creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri enjoyed the balmy summer evening as they mingled in the beautiful courtyard of the Palais.

Extraordinary eye candy to catch on your next trip to Paris.
