Pronounced “beaker,” this gorgeous glass water bottle is the perfect gift for the girl who has everything and cares about her complexion. Why? Because if you’re not properly hydrated, even your most luxe skincare and makeup won’t work properly, and even 2% dehydration shows on your skin. And because bkr is the chicest, cutest water bottle we’ve ever seen.
bkr was launched in 2011 by two friends and former lawyers, Tal Winter and Kate Cutler, who knew that water is the key to a good complexion. Fed up with seeing people drinking out of ugly, unsustainable plastic bottles, they decided it was time to launch a counter-revolution: a completely original, extraordinarily beautiful bottle made of glass with a silicone sleeve that’s chic as it is practical — and would prompt people to reject trashy disposables that are bad for the planet and its inhabitants.
Six years later, bkr is the constant companion of A-listers everywhere—Gisele Bundchen, Charlize Theron, Jessica Alba, Miley Cyrus, and a great many more are rarely seen without them. And the brand has just launched its most luxe model to date: The 500 Collection, made with Crystals from Swarovski. With a Lucite cap containing 500 sparkling loose Swarovski crystals, the bottle comes in a choice of white, pink or nude silicone sleeves, with yellow gold, rose gold or silver caps, respectively. A limited edition of only a few thousand bottles has been produced, available at London’s Harrods and at New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as Sephora, Nordstrom, Revolve and mybkr.com. At $185, the price tag is pretty luxe, too, but Winter and Cutler have charity in mind: 100% of the 500 Collection’s net profits are being donated to Water For People, whose focus is on sustainable solutions to the water crisis in nine countries. For each bottle sold, one individual will be provided with a month’s supply of clean water. In other words, it’s not only a collector’s item, it’s an entirely guilt-free purchase. What more motivation do we need?
