Laura Comolli rocks the streetstyle scene
My biggest passion, bags! When I started out it was all about my latest bag purchases and ‘It-bag’ reviews, which kept my readers up to date with original styles to suit all budgets. Then I started getting requests to turn it into a blog about entire outfits; but bags will always be my first love.
How did you achieve your status as a personal style expert?
Being one of the first bloggers in Italy helped. But I also try to be professional and do everything to the best of my ability, sharing my sense of style in a way that everyone can replicate. Instagram, Facebook and Twitter have also played a big part!
Each of them is beautiful and unique. New York’s streetstyle is the most challenging, while its catwalks are truly innovative. In Europe, the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ in Milan makes me feel so proud that I’m in a position to preview their collections. Paris, on the other hand, is a dream: historical locations, luxury brands and the most amazing models in the world.
What were the standout key trends for you?
For Spring/Summer 2016 it’s all about lines—classical and colorful stripes. The other trend to watch out for is the ‘cold shoulder’: be ready to bare, girls! As for colors: orange, blue, white, yellow and red are big news. Personally, I still love a totally white look because I’m addicted to minimalist looks.
Yes, it’s really easy to make your outfit unique: Take a basic tee and denim jeans, add a tote bag and sneakers, and you have a day look; put on high heels and add a sparkly clutch, and you’re ready for a night out.
Any regrets about not using your law degree?
No, it actually helps me now with things like negotiations and contracts with brands. My blog, social media strategy, and digital content are the only things I see in my future.
