Worthy of Nancy Sinatra herself (“These boots are made for bloggin’…”), Fall/Winter’s most photogenic footwear is the killer-heeled bootee. Ever the dedicated follower of fashion, photographer Sandra Semburg was out pounding the planet’s streets from fashion’s hotspots:

The City of Lights found Alex Carl, stylist and fashion director of the bi-annual RIKAmagazine, teetering in brightest-white, zipped, stiletto boots—a slick counterpoint to her on-trend cropped, asymmetric raw-edge jeans. Only a very hardy fashionista will brave the fall sidewalks in shoes that brilliantly clean, so our top tip is: take a packet of wet wipes in your handbag! Also spotted in Paris was a très chic exponent of the two-tone look. Extending the split personality from the skirt (note the raw edge again) down to the feet, the mismatched style that everyone is playing with is given real elegance by these red-and-white bootees from Céline’s SS17 collection. Editor of Mint Journal Irina Lakicevic is a dentist when she isn’t brushing up her style savvy—these floral boots certainly brought a bright smile to our faces with their gorgeous splash of color.

On the other side of the world, monochrome worn with towering block heels was seen walking the walk. Beauty expert and founder of Gritty Pretty Eleanor Pendleton opted for pull-up neoprene ankle boots that were as skin hugging as her sleeves were outsize. Is this the look for the new season’s edgy office outfit? You bet. Meanwhile, self-styled “documenter and content curator” Yan Yan Chan rocked hers in classic leather: top marks for the chunky strap detail, but we are definitely directing most of our love at those red and black-striated heels—fabulous!
