London Fashion Week – MARY KATRANTZOU &PETER PILOTTO
Fashion Week is my favourite time of the year, when some of the worlds greatest designers come together to showcase their incredible collections. This season, a magical 160,000 Swarovski crystals featured on the catwalk in Mary Katrantzou’s and Peter Pilotto’s AW18 London Fashion Week shows – two of my favourite designers.
Bauhaus collided with Victorian-inspired embellishment at Mary Katrantzou, while at Peter Pilotto, bright Swarovski stones glimmered on decadent silk silhouettes, and on jewelry pieces designed by Marco Panconesi.
Mary Katrantzou commented: “This season was about discovering new techniques and forms and silhouettes. We wanted to wrap a Pointillist knit around the body and make it feel textural. I was thinking about Pointillism as being like a CMYK dot around the body. The Swarovski crystals add something really elevated to the lampshade dresses and the futuristic elements of the Bauhaus dresses.”

Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos commented: “This season was about feeling comfortable, confident and cool: a silhouette where the girl has fun and looks exciting. The Swarovski crystal embellishment complimented the collection so well, with the party feel of the club that we wanted to express. The crystals gave that extra accent and sparkle, and the colors are so incredible and complimentary to what we do.” The table setting at Peter Pilotto
