The Ski Edit

How to look luxe on the slopes

When your backdrop is a blank canvas—as pure as the driven snow, literally—then one’s image is drawn sharply into focus, and looking stylish on the slopes becomes a priority. No one knows this better than Russian fashion blogger and creative consultant Kate Butko, who has helped us put together this season’s skiwear edit.

You can’t keep your cool on-piste if you don’t have the best equipment, and Elan has been a pioneer in the global winter sports industry for over seventy years. Its must-have Delight Black Edition set is known as the little black dress of skis—sleek and chic, with a subtly sparkling black crystal snowflake motif, so Butko always starts with these. Team with Elan boots and you’ll race ahead of the crowd.

With the basics covered, she opted for a Bogner sweater and quilted jacket matched with Toni Sailer pants for her first look. Then, rocking it with more than a hint of glam biker, she finished this brilliant tough-luxe outfit with Jimmy Choo cat-eye sunglasses and a crystal-studded helmet by Casko.

Timeless marinière chic was the inspiration for Butko’s other look. This time, Elan’s skis and boots were worn with Bogner pants and a striped Toni Sailer sweater. Accessories came once again courtesy of Jimmy Choo cat-eyes and a casually elegant Warm-me headband.

Our top tip this winter? Own the run with an après-fashion sensibility.
